Sunrise at Ankor Wat

The Tuk tuk came to pick us up early early in the morning, we had decided to go watch the sunrise over the Ankor Wat and the sun rises at 5:30am, but it was well worth it. Howeverm our guide Mr Rottana, or Rot as he prefers to be called, told us that the best time of year to come watch the sunrise over Ankor Wat is on March 23rd, keep that in mind folks!

The temple, which was built during the 12th century and is in beautiful shape. Practically every cm of each wall has been decorated with carvings in the stone, many of them telling us stories about the Gods, the demons and the daily life at that time.

Rot shared the temple's stories while showing us around, making sure that we'd stop at the best photo spots. He told us, that in order to make sure there would not be any mistakes in the carvings, each stone had been carved out piece by piece, and once finished put together into entire walls or pillars, all pieces matched perfectly together!

The Ankor Wat is absolutely something to see, and I'm very happy we decided to take the extra tour to Cambodia even if it was only for a couple of days!^^
