Digital lock

Ever since I started watching the Korean dramas I've been fascinated by their digital door locks, that open with a code instead of a key.
And now I have my very own, greeting me in Korean every day!

Video blog: Midsommar 2011

This is a short video from our Midsommar celebration up in Dalarna at my brother's girlfriend's parents.
I'm sorry for the delay, but I hope you'll like it! Since the camera was new I guess I did something stupid ending up with a not so good video quality, I'll work on it for next time.

Enjoy!^^

A Swedish Celebration to the Ash Cloud 2010

Every year, on April 30th, the city of Gothenborg is filled with people, strolling the streets, buying ice creams and balloons. Balconies and terrasses get crowded and there's this excitement in the air... and all of a sudden you see them, the first couple of Police horses, the very first sight of the Annual Chalmers Cortège. Their main goal; to remind us of the past year's head lines whilst showing off their engineering skills!^^

Here's a small part filmed at this year's cortège... got reminded of it yesterday.

Chicha tutorial

Just in case you were wondering how to prepare your chicha, however this video is exclusively made for Henrik at Peacock and therefore I didn't translate any of the explanations into English. This might however be added later on, if there's any interest, otherwise I believe it's pretty easy to follow anyways.

Enjoy!^^

Tarzan and... me

Sunday afternoon up by the mountains, towards Asni, about 30 minutes from Marrakech, you'll find a lovely nature reserve; Terre d'Amanar.
It's situated just by the foot of the mountains, giving you an magnificent view... and there's more to it! The whole reserve is filled with activities for both adults and kids of all ages.
We tried out the tree climbing, but we'll be back shortly to try out all the rest!^^

This is what we'll try out next time...

Jemma El Fna Square

Since I never go up to the roof terraces on the Jemma El Fna Square usually I took the opportunity to make a small video for you who haven't yet come to see Marrakech, just to give you an idea of the atmosphere on the main square called Jemma El Fna.

Pleased to introduce my life

I started this blog in the hope of creating some kind of sneak off in my daily life, and to be honest I haven't been that efficient telling you all my story from Marrakech since I got back from my holidays in Vietnam.
So I decided I should take it from the top, since most of my life these past 2 years in Marrakech, have been about my work and how to build up a Riad business.

Therefore I'm happy to introduce you to the Riad Flam where I spend most of my waken hours, and have been for the last 2 years.

At the moment, I'm helping Bodil getting into the Riad Flam habits, since she will be assisting me at reception, and I must admit she is working hard, especially trying to learn French!

So from now on, in order to REALLY tell you my story, a lot of my writing will be about my work and I'll try and sneak off now and days to let you get a feel of Marrakech.^^

Oh, just a teaser to give you an idea of where I spend my time.

La Vache Qui Rit

A couple of months ago, after my VERY important appearance in SATC 2, I was called in to help out making a TV add for "La Vache qui rit".
Being Swedish and all, the director decided it would be a fun challenge turning me in to a Chinese Empress. So take a close look, and the Asian looking girl in red with a fluffy hat; that's me!^^

Diamond Bay Resort & Golf

At the luggage pick up, we had our first meeting with the Vietnamese Mr. Bean; the bell boy. Not only did he look like Mr. Bean, he also acted like him!^^
After Check In, we got escorted by one of the receptionist, a very nice and sweet girl who found the fact that we just had booked a bungalow, and that there was a wedding going on in the hotel "velly velly lomantic!!".
On the way to our bungalow she had the time to go over the necessary details about the resort with us, and made sure to warn us that the beach had "vely many wives"... Steve later got very disappointed when he found out that there was nothing but waves at the beach, and not so many women!^^

The Diamond Bay Resort, was an excellent time to recover and get in phase with our time difference. Our friends joined us for our two last nights there, and all and all we spent 5 nights just sleeping, getting fed and getting loads of time in the sun!
We were so lazy that we haven't even taken any photos from the Diamond Bay, we can only share a video from our bungalow, enjoy! ...at least that's what we did!

And yes, the bathroom was about 1,5 times bigger than the bedroom, and yes that is a giant bathtub right next to the shower. I actually had a hard time deciding where to put the bathmat... the bathroom was just way to big!^^
