Cup cake mania!!
Working hard isn't always as hard as it sounds... here in Ho Chi Minh new cup cake bakeries keep popping up in every street corner, and I just brought home a sample from one not far from home...

Late night snack
We've drunk the champagne (actually Italian Proseccio) to celebrate Steve' birthday... and before going off to bed, I'm enjoying my Korean snacks I found earlier this evening.
I especially found the little man with the flag really cute, but I have no idea what he's trying to tell me!^^

Back in office
So after my almost-around-the-world-marathon I'm back in Ho Chi Minh, recovering from a cold I caught in the plane, trying to catch up on work. But since I found a new funny app for my iPhone (Pudding Cam) I found some time off to play around and try it out!^^

The marathon is on
I'm comfortably in my seat, leaving for 5 days in Stockholm (well that includes the travel time).
I honestly believe this time will be even harder to surpass than my train ride to Hanoi... let's go!^^

Hiding from the sun
Here in Asia you often see women walking around with umbrellas protecting them from the sun, or just about any item to keep their face in the shadow; handbags, jackets, folders... or just simply a hand or an arm if nothing else is found.
I was looking through some old photos from Marrakech and stumbled upon this one. I guess this must be the Moroccan equivalence to the Asian umbrella.^^

It's decided...
The envelope is on its way, thanks to the famous Central Post Office of Ho Chi Minh (because you can not
only go sightseeing here, but also... send mail!^^).
In a few days we will officially be part of the Hotel Management MBA program in Paris. But don't worry, we'll be staying in the 13th arrondissement (China Town) to avoid too much of a cultural chock!^^

Jacuzzi time
I think I've deserved a quick dip in the jacuzzi today after work out, it just looks too tempting!^^

Cup cakes
I've discovered a sweet little coffee shop with delicious cup cakes today; Pacey.
There's a big chance it will become a regular spot for my future "working out"-days when I get fed up of working from my bunker!^^
I tried the "cookie" and "chocolate cream cheese" ones today... yummy!

Roomie number 2
Me and our 2nd roomie Vincent, hanging around the house watching tennis and listening to good old music... well to be honest I'm mostly playing with my NEW iPhone 4S... just simply because I have one!^^

One layer completed
Even though I was food poisoned only a few days earlier I've managed to finish the first layer of paint in the last remaining room. From the looks of my "painters" clothes the best option would be to head straight to the shower before getting myself a giant pizza from La Braceria (best oven baked pizzas in town that is); tonight is all about regaining energy and Korean dramas!^^

Ear cleaning
Some time in the beginning of our Saigon adventure, we got to try out the, apparently very common treatment in Asia; Ear Cleaning. It's something usually done either between family members, or at the hair dresser or such.
It's supposed to be very relaxing, I didn't think so though. I got more of a feeling that the tool put into one ear, would soon pop out of the other. Steve on the other hand loves it, so yesterday we went to buy our very own Ear Cleaning Kit!^^

12 hours to go
Only 12 hours left now, I'm having a small bread and cheese snack. It's crazy how internationally known the laughing cow is.
Here are some pictures of the surroundings near Danang, can't do better with the camera in my phone.

Somewhere close to Danang
The scenery when travelling by train in Vietnam is stunning, it makes the other inconveniences worth the while. Unlucky for me I have motion sickness and spend most of my time sleeping. Here are a few shots of the inconveniences of this journey; I'm in a hard sleeper this time meaning we are 6 instead of 4 persons on the same living area as before. You'll also find photos of the washroom and squat toilet.

At the Hanoi train station... Again
After a cold and long day in rainy Hanoi, wandering around with a lovley Australian girl I met outside the train station this morning, I'm once again back at the station. This time with a new passport awaiting me, and this time heading South towards the sun and heat. Having learnt from the Viets, I'm buying my snacks for the trip before boarding the train. Can't wait until Wednesday and getting in to my clean sheets!

Arrived in Hanoi
I survived the 27 hour long train ride from Saigon to Hanoi, and I'm rewarding myself with a bowl of noodle Pho in front of the train station before I move on killing time until I can get my passport done.

Saigon-Hanoi-Saigon in 72 hours
I lost my passport a couple of days ago and in order to get a new one I need to go to the Embassy in Hanoi, not taking a flight. So I went for the (so they say) most comfortable and economic choice (I'm not so sure about the comfortable part though) I just discovered the "cell" I'm supposed to spend my next 27 hours in...
