There was a light rain while leaving the Halong harbor, and the only thing we could see was blurry contours of islet in the distance. We stayed inside the boat for lunch, while the rain clouds slowly moved away, and after lunch, the sun started to come out. It couldn't have been better. Halong Bay got its name after a dragon, and the fog made the site look as magic as a fairy tale. And while the fog slowly moved away, we got to discover the stunning bay bit by bit from the boat terrace.
With the sun shining over us, Steve and I got engaged!
Steve decided to celebrate this with the staff, and we all got to toast in some rice spirit!
Looking through the photos, I realized that none of them would manage to give full credit to the beauty of the Halong Bay, so here's a video that I found on the UNESCO website, to give you an idea.
Jag visste det!
