Le Comptoir Général

Last night walking home along the St Martin Channel, Steve and I discovered a new restaurant; Le Comptoir Général. Well hidden in the far end of a court yard where one of Steve's childhood friends used to live.

Tonight we went there for dinner in a good mood with good friends! And I must say, I was very surprised when entering this unknown place, well known for it's asian snacks and organic policy, just have a look for yourselves!

The place is huge, it must have been used as a factory in the old days (the area around the St Martin Channel was where one would bring in leather to be arranged, a bit like tanneries). We even found a brochure to explain each room with a map to make sure you don't get lost.
One lines up to order food and drinks at the bar, and seating is free; sofas, school chairs, grandma's old armchair... some people would even sit on the floor.
It's a place that should at least be visited once if in Paris!^^
